Teen Therapy Services
MeMD’s teen teletherapy solution connects youth ages 10-17 to the mental health care they need – quickly, easily and comfortably.
Helping Kids Get the Mental Health Care They Need
The last decade has seen a drastic increase in mental health disorders in children and teens. At the same time, the U.S. is facing a critical shortage of mental health providers.
Wait lists to see a therapist can be weeks or months long. Poor access to care can have dire outcomes; the CDC reports that suicide is the second-leading cause of death among adolescents 12-17 and in college-aged youth.
Researchers believe social media, cultural pressures, dependence on electronic communication, and poor sleep habits all contribute to mental health issues in children and teens. The solution requires a modern and convenient approach that kids can relate to – without any negative stigma.

HOW IT WORKS
When a child suffers, the entire family suffers – at home, school, the workplace and throughout day-to-day life. Teletherapy combats access and stigma issues without sacrificing quality counseling and care.
Parents can schedule a 25- or 50-minute session with a therapist in as few as 24 hours (vs. weeks or months), which is critical for kids in need.
Sessions take place via phone, computer or mobile device. This format works well for adolescents who are often more comfortable with virtual versus in-person visits.
Parents take part in the first session (with the option of participating throughout treatment), and can work with the child's therapist to design a detailed treatment plan with specific benchmarks and scheduled check-ins to ensure the treatment is effective.
